IMPORTANT NOTE:
- Upon successful purchase of the course and after completion of the online enrolment form, students will receive an email containing their login details. These credentials will grant student's access to the course learning materials (Learner Guide) as well as additional course resources.
- Download and save the Learner Guide (workbook) to your device in advance. This will allow you to review it and prepare for the course.
- The learner guide provided in class is a returned copy and is for in-class reference only.

- A sound understanding of written and spoken English is essential to undertake this course.
- If you require assistance with language, a NAATI- accredited interpreter must be arranged by you and be present during the class. Please inform us in advance if you plan to attend with an interpreter.

What You Get
- Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for the unit of competency ‘SITXFSA006 – Participate in safe food handling practices.
- This certificate will be sent electronically to students email address within 2 weeks.

- The skills and knowledge to recognise prevent and alleviate hazards associated with food handling and the ability and authority to supervise other people handling food at your premises and ensure that it is done safely.

- Participants are advised to wear flat, enclosed, rubber soled shoes for comfort and safety. To ensure food safety procedures are followed, long hair should be tied back and all unnecessary jewellery removed.
Food Safety Supervisor Course (SITXFSA006 – Participate in Safe Food Handling Practices)
Under Australian regulations, every food business must have a designated Food Safety Supervisor. This intensive one-day accredited course equips hospitality professionals with the skills and knowledge required to supervise safe food handling practices across all areas of food service.
As part of the training and assessment, participants will also engage in on-site observations at operational food premises.
Course Overview:
This unit covers the skills and knowledge needed to ensure food is handled safely during:
- Storage
- Preparation
- Display
- Service
- Disposal
It is designed for individuals who directly handle food as part of their daily responsibilities. Roles may include:
- Cooks and chefs
- Caterers
- Kitchen hands
- Food and beverage attendants
Upon successful completion, participants will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for: SITXFSA006 – Participate in Safe Food Handling Practices
Important Note:
- If you have not completed SITXFSA005-Use Hygienic Practices for Food Safety before, it is highly recommended to do so before undertaking SITXFSA006.
- SITXFSA005 provides a better understanding personal hygiene, contamination prevention, and basic food safety, making it easier to apply the more advanced food handling and monitoring skills in SITXFSA006. Completing it first helps you work confidently and safely in any food-handling environment.
- This course is designed for the hospitality sector (e.g., restaurants, cafes, and small food businesses). If you require training for the health sector-such as childcare, aged care, or similar environments - you will need to check the relevant unit codes for health sector, as they different from those used for hospitality.
