THIS COURSE IS FOR THOSE CANDIDATES WHO HAVE A RECENTLY EXPIRED (OR DUE TO EXPIRE) FOOD SAFETY SUPERVISORS CERTIFICATE FROM THE NSW FOOD AUTHORITY.
When an FSS holder’s certification expires, the certificate holder has 90 days to replace their expired certificate by completing a recertification course. William Angliss is an approved RTO offering that course.
In order to enrol in a recertification course, a student must be able to demonstrate:
A valid NSW FSS certificate, OR A NSW FSS certificate that has expired not more than 90 days ago, AND Achieved competency in the current units of competency or recognised equivalent, superseded units of competency from an approved RTO.
Note: a student cannot recertify using units of competency superseded more than once. (Eligible units are: SITXFSA001 and SITXFSA002).
If your certificate expired more than 90 days ago, you must complete the full course again, including the required units of competency and the key focus areas.
From the 1st of September 2015, those who hold a completed NSW Food Authority’s Food Safety Supervisor certificate will need to complete this refresher training to obtain a new certificate and a further 5 years of accreditation
A Food Safety Supervisor must have completed training in specific units of competency at a Registered Training Organisation approved by the NSW Food Authority.
During the enrolment process, you will need to provide William Angliss Institute with a certified copy of your expired FOOD AUTHORITY CERTIFICATE AND either a USI Transcript OR a certified Statement of Attainment from the original RTO where you completed your FSS course (Eligible are SITXFSA001 Use hygienic practices for food safety AND SITXFSA002 Participate in safe food handling practices).
PLEASE NOTE, William Angliss only provides unit of competency outcomes for the Hospitality units of competency SITXFSA005 Use hygienic practices for food safety AND SITXFSA006 Participate in safe food handling practices . We DO NOT provide outcomes for the Retail food units.
Once you have purchased the online Food Safety Supervisor Recertification NSW course you will be emailed a link to complete your enrolment process. Upon successful completion of your enrolment, you will then be allocated access to the online Learning Management System in order to undertake your course. Once you have been deemed competent, your new Food Authority Certificate and Statement of Attainment will be posted to you.
There is a three (3) month time limit to complete the FSS course with William Angliss Institute.
PLEASE NOTE: The creation of user accounts is a manual operation and therefore takes place during office hours only. As part of the enrolment process for this course please be advised that your personal details will be provided to the Food Authority of NSW for the purpose of recording your competency outcome and issuing of the Food Authority Certificate.
Please note: You will need to provide the following documents:-
USI Number A CERTIFIED copy of your exisiting/outdated certificate and A CERTIFIED copy of your statement of attainment from your prior FSS training OR USI Transcript.
Please be aware that as part of our enrolment process you are required to provided CERTIFIED COPIES OF YOUR ID for us to verify identify and comply with audit requirements.
IMPORTANT NSW FOOD AUTHORITY REQUIREMENTS:
Food businesses have 30 working days from the date of certificate expiry of the appointed FSS to either ensure their appointed FSS renews their training and obtains a new FSS certificate, or another FSS with a current qualification is appointed.
An RTO can provide a Recognition of Prior Learning for the purposes of issuing an FSS certificate if:
The FSS holder currently recertifying holds an FSS certificate that will expire soon, or has expired with the immediately preceding period of 90 Days.
IF YOUR CERTIFICATE HAS EXPIRED OUTSIDE THESE TIMEFRAMES WILLIAM ANGLISS INSTITUTE WILL BE UNABLE TO ISSUE YOU A NSW FSS CERTIFICATE BASED ON COMPLETION OF THE REFRESHER COURSE AND YOU WILL NEED TO ENROL INTO THE FULL NSW FOOD SAFETY SUPERVISORS COURSE.
