Once the online course has been purchased, and online enrolment form completed, participants will be emailed a login details to give them the access to the course learning materials to read in advance.

Zoom invitation:  A day before the course commencement date, you will receive a Zoom invitation (Zooming link + Meeting ID + Password) to join the session on the day via Zoom.

Prerequisites

A working camera and audio are necessary for the duration of the class; phones are not recommended

Please note: A good understanding of written and spoken English is required to undertake this course; if not you will require an NATTI interpreter to be present in the class. You will need to advise prior to the course will occur.

This course applies to any staff in Victoria working where alcohol is sold or served, including all types of hospitality, tourism and events venues. packaged liquor outlets and wineries, breweries and distilleries.

This training is via Zoom ( virtual class) and covers the following:

How to recognise and professionally deal with intoxicated customers and underage persons creation of safe and social atmospheres' at venues  an understanding of liquor licensing requirements of staff enabling course participants to be industry ready and confident

SITHFAB002 Provide responsible service of alcohol describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to responsibly sell of serve alcohol, and covers RSA skill and knowledge requirements common across Australia.  In some cases after completion of this unit, some jurisdictions liquor authorities require candidates to complete a bridging course to address the specific differences  between states and territories.

RSA Training is mandatory for licensees and staff selling, offering or serving liquor for general, on-premises, late night and packaged liquor licenses.

ASSESSMENT

You will be assessed on:

Active participation  role play demonstration -you are expected to demonstrate, measure and pour, standard drinks or samples according to industry requirements; this can be completed via Zoom or video submission of demonstration answering questions online

Via Zoom Class hints-

To enrol in RSA training via zoom please note you will need the following: The trainer needs to have visual and audio confirmation of your presence in the course; it requires two way oral and visual communication between students and the trainer. As via zoom class requirements, it is a pre-requisite for you to be seen and heard, so you will need a working camera and a microphone on your device; (lap top, Pc , or tablet). Video capability enables you to be observed by the trainer, undertaking assessments (as per VGCCC requirements). The microphone capability is needed as the trainer may ask you questions, and will be seeking your verbal/ spoken responses (as per VGCCC requirements). Please address these microphone and a camera requirements by testing your devices prior to joining the training session. We appreciate punctuality. Via Zoom RSA runs for 6.5 hours. You will need 6.5 hours stable, unlimited, continues  internet access. Suitable equipment for a course of this duration; a mobile phone is not recommended, as this type of training drains a lot of power on your phone.

On successful completion of the RSA training, you will receive your VGCCC branded Certificate on the next business day then your nationally recognised statement of attainment "SITHFAB002 – Provide responsible service of alcohol".

Please Note:

On 1 January 2022, Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulations (VCGLR) transitioned to The Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission (VGCCC).

All liquor-related forms remain valid until further notice. The VGCCC retains all the powers and responsibilities of the former VCGLR until liquor regulation transfers to the Department of Justice and Community Safety later in the year.

Email addresses and phone numbers are unchanged.

 The VGCCC RSA certificate is valid for three years, then you need to complete an online RSA refresher course every 3 years and before the expiry date.
