Duration

This course is conducted online and you have access to the learning system 24/7. You have 3 months to complete the course.

Prerequisites

A good understanding of written and spoken English is required to undertake this course.

What You Learn

-          SITXFSA006:

o   Follow food safety program

o   Store food safely

o   Prepare food safely

o   Provide safe single use items

o   Maintain a clean environment

o   Dispose of food safely

-          SITXFSA005:

o   Follow hygiene procedures and identify food hazards

o   Report any personal health issues

o   Prevent food contamination

o   Prevent cross-contamination by washing hands

What You Get

The Food Safety for Supervisors online course comprises of 2 nationally recognised units of competency (SITXFSA005 – Use hygienic practices for food safety and SITXFSA006 – Participate in safe food handling practices), 

A Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for the Skill Set SITSS00069: food Safety for Supervisors.

Materials to Bring

As this course is online you will be required to record Simulations and you will need to ensure you have a working camera and microphone/speaker.

You are also required to supply a USI Number (this must match the legal name you have provided). If you don’t have one, please apply for one via this link: www.usi.gov.au

Please note: any information gathered is for training set up and government reporting purposes only.

Once the course has been purchased, you will be contacted via email by our team to complete an Enrolment Form and provide photographic ID (passport, drivers licence, proof of age, etc.) so you can be set up in the online learning system.

IMPORTANT: Although, on completion, you will receive a competency in nationally accredited units – please be aware that NSW and VIC have different legislative and licencing requirements in regards to FSS. Please contact us to see if this course is right for you. 

 The creation of user accounts to access the online course is a manual operation and therefore takes place during office hours only, Monday to Thursday.   

 Once all paperwork is returned, participants will be contacted by their trainer detailing the requirements for completing the course and information to access the online Learning Management System in order to undertake the course.

 There are a range of assessments that are required to be completed as part of this course, which include:

  • Knowledge Questions (online)
  • Project (online)
  • Practical Simulations (video recording uploaded to training system)
  • Orals (Zoom)

 Participants have 3 months and 3 attempts from the online enrolment date to complete the units assessments and upon successful completion of all the assessment elements, will receive a William Angliss Statement of Attainment.

If after the third attempt students have not been deemed competent, the units will be archived and they will be required to re-purchase the course.

 Units will be archived once the course has expired, students can request an extension however this will not be granted after the expiry date has passed and only if regular progress has been made.

 Refunds will not be processed for change of mind once the unit has been assigned and/or started.
